Hi everybody,

I wonder is it possible, because the car uses 2 types of fuel- petrol and LPG. The car is equipped with LPG sequential injection system, and I added timing advance processor to get better performance, when the engine runs on LPG.
The car is Golf 4, engine AKL, ЕCU 06A906019AK, 5WP4371-03.

Is it possible to replace the original FLASH chip 29F200BB with 29F400BB, in which lower half to place the original (petrol) firmware, and in the upper half- the modded (LPG) one. And to swithch between them by the address bus A17, pin 3 (NC for 29F200BB, A17 for 29F400BB- "0" for petrol fw, "1" for LPG fw). The ECU connector has free pins, where the control could be wired through.
The purpose of this mod is to eliminate the timing advance processor, i.e. in the modded (LPG) firmware to have corrected timing advance maps.

Thank you!

Meanwhile, I found this: http://www.chiptuners.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=108.
And this: http://www.alientech-to.it/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=105&Itemid=34.

The SW2A module from Alientech is desined for use in purposes as mine, and its idea is better: it uses the first D flip-flop (74HC74) to generate proper signal for the last address line (A17)- as seen on the pictures (http://www.alientech.to/pdf/web/SW2A_eng.pdf), Qneg output (pin6) is connected to the last address line. SET input (pin4) and CLEAR input (pin1) are connected to +Vcc. I suppose CLK input (pin3) is connected to first address line A0, D input (pin2) is connected to external switch. Thus, the level state generated by the external swith, defines the level on the last address line on each positive going transaction of the A0, and makes the real-time firmware switching possible and (I suppose) safe.

Does someone has SW2A module or experience with it (or even its schematics)?
I will be grateful for comments on this idea (to make up the schematics), or even better- full SW2A module schematics.

Thank you in advance!
And Happy New Year!
